The Mandates are a London-based Canadian roots rock duo (and sometimes three-piece) known for their crafty narratives and edgy songwriting. The band's forceful acoustic performances are often like a country hoedown blended with a sweaty dive-bar show. Formed by accident in 2010, the band features Tim Cowl's confidently reckless guitar blended with the driving rhythm and distinct, rural vocals of Paul Wiper. With musical and lyrical influences ranging from Dylan and The Band to The Gaslight Anthem and Thrice, The Mandates are great music to listen to when you want to empty a bottle.
